"Burning bushes" come in all shapes and sizes. In the midst of ordinary life, God sends something out of the ordinary to get our attention and call us aside to be with Him in a holy time.
So this week's spiritual assignment: Watch for a "burning bush" in your life--God's invitation to come aside and spend time with Him, to be in His presence and receive revelation of who He is and hear the calling/purpose that only be fulfilled by you!
Moses received an invitation to holiness - the same kind of invitation we also received at the beginning of Lent Every invitation to holiness is an invitation to repentance. Every invitation to holiness is an invitation to an encounter with God.
Exodus 3:1-4 1 Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” 4 When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
