Women's Retreat

When You Pray
February 20-22 in Cambria!

You are invited to join the Ascension Women for a refreshing weekend retreat in Cambria. Camp Ocean Pines sits on thirteen acres of Monterey Pine forest that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. This residential camp provides a fitting backdrop to take in the wonder of God’s creation as we explore His infinite love for us through teaching, prayer, and worship.
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18
Prayer is the way we relate to God, but sometimes it can be a struggle. Do you have trouble thinking of words to say when you pray? Are you afraid some emotions are too intense to express to God? Do you reach the end of a day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all? You’re not alone. Throughout God’s Word, we encounter many voices who instruct us how to pray.
Our favorite Lifeway leaders will help us understand how God welcomes both our praises and laments, as well as our thanks-givings and intercessions. And above all that there’s no one right way to pray. As we draw near to God, we’ll find our faith strengthened and our hearts united to Christ.
All are welcome. Bring a friend, or come alone, there will be time for rest, recreation, crafts and fellowship on Saturday afternoon.
Full details and registration form here.  Pay by check or online via Ascension Giving using "My Women's Retreat Registration."

Ladies' Bible Study: Anchored

Picture
Our next Bible study will be Anchored: The Life & Letters of the Apostle Peter. The study will be available in person at Diane Allen's home and simultaneously on Zoom, beginning Monday, January 5 at 7pm. The study will run seven sessions, meeting every other Monday.  Contact us for location and Zoom info.

From the publisher: "Join Marian Jordan Ellis for this 7-session Bible study that explores the life and letters of Peter, a disciple who left everything to follow Jesus. Peter's life and apostolic ministry will model for us how to anchor our lives to Jesus, while the letters of 1 and 2 Peter will reveal an enduring hope that enables us to withstand the storms of life, and even thrive in the midst of them. You’ll be challenged to hold fast to Him as you discover that, in Christ, you have everything you need to live victoriously and joyfully."
